Science

  1. I only trace the lines that flow from God.–Albert Einstein

  2. The modern vogue of bringing science to the support of Christianity proves not the truth of the Christian faith but the gnawing uncertainty in the hearts of those who must look to science to give respectability to their faith.

  3. With every new answer unfolded, science has consistently discovered at least three new questions.–Wernher von Braun

  4. Every formula which expresses a law of nature is a hymn of praise to God.

  5. There is no ascertained fact of science with which the Bible is out of harmony. There are some hypotheses of scientific investigators which are out of harmony with the biblical revelation. But there is a great difference between hypotheses & established fact.

  6. We have to live today by what truth we can get today & be ready tomorrow to call it falsehood. Science is a history of superceded theories.–William James

  7. I have seen the science I worshipped & the aircraft I loved destroying the civilisation I expected them to serve.–Charles A. Lindbergh, Jr.

  8. A God proved by science would not be God. For I can prove only that which is by Creation lower than I, that which is at my disposal.

  9. What psychiatry has done is to bring scientific terminology to the truths that the Bible presents in poetry, allegory & parable.

  10. Science is but a mere heap of facts, not a gold chain of truths, if we refuse to link it to the Throne of God.

  11. Whenever I find men having to run to science to find support for the Bible, I know they are rationalists & not true believers.–A.W. Tozer

  12. Science cannot determine origin & so cannot determine destiny. As it presents only a sectional view of Creation, it gives only a sectional view of everything in Creation.

  13. Science cannot solve Man’s moral problems.

  14. Men became scientific because they expected law in nature, & they expected law in nature because they believed in a Legislator.–C.S. Lewis

  15. No sciences are better attested than the religion of the Bible.–Isaac Newton

  16. Science can give us the “know-how,” but it cannot give us the “know-why.”

  17. Now if you’re talking about just practical mechanics & inventions by men who figured out easier ways to do things & different types of simple tools & machines that made their work easier, that’s a different story. We do that almost everyday! I’ve invented all kinds of things to make work easier, that’s something else. That’s just using God’s basic laws for good purposes.

  18. Unfortunately for the scientifically-minded, God is not discoverable or demonstrable by purely scientific means. But that really proves nothing; it simply means that the wrong instruments are being used for the job.

  19. If God said that Jonah was swallowed by a whale, then the whale swallowed Jonah, & we do not need a scientist to measure the gullet of a whale.

  20. The scientific way of looking at the World is not wrong any more than the glass-manufacturer’s way of looking at the window. This way of looking at things has its very important uses. Nevertheless, the window was placed there not to be looked at but to be looked through; & the World has failed of its purpose unless it too is looked through & the eye rests not on it but on its God.

  21. There is one thing even more vital to science than intelligent methods; & that is, the sincere desire to find out the truth, whatever it may be.

  22. Even psychology & psychiatry, the sciences of the mind, try to prove that people’s reactions, mental habits & responses etc. have been influenced by their animal past & say the least, by their recent forebears; if not monkeys, at least by their parents & grandparents, & therefore nothing which they do is their own fault, it’s all their parents’ fault. They blame everything on your past, on your early upbringing & your parents.–Partly true, of course, but twisted & made diabolical to try to excuse criminals for their crimes.

  23. Disillusioned by the uses men made of science, Albert Einstein said not long before his death that if he could live again, he would choose to be a plumber rather than a physicist.

  24. We have too many men of science, too few men of God. We have grasped the mystery of the atom, & rejected the Sermon on the Mount. The World has achieved brilliance without wisdom, power without conscience.–Omar Bradley

  25. If we could solve all the mysteries of the Universe, we would be co-equal with God. Every drop of ocean shares its glory but is not the ocean.–Mahatma Ghandi

  26. Physics is a study of the natural forces of Creation & their operation according to certain exact laws of the Earth & the Universe, & another science which shows the exactness & perfection of the intricate precision of God’s Creation. Physics & mathematics virtually prove the existence of God & His planning of the Universe. These are true, genuine sciences.
