The Bible contains hundreds of promises for you personally. They are not mere words, but as Jesus said, they are “spirit and life.”(John 6:63) They are power promises that will strengthen your faith in God and propel you over any obstacle.
Here are a few that have been tried and proven by millions down through the ages. You can stand on them too!
When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you … when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.
-2 Samuel 22:2
Those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
My help comes from the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth.
In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; you will stretch out Your hand … and Your right hand will save me.
Whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid. … The Lord is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, “Fear not, I will help you.”
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
-John 14:18 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
-1 Corinthians 10:13
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ.
-2 Corinthians 2:14
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
-2 Corinthians 12:9-10
I will never leave you nor forsake you.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.
-1 Peter 1:6-8
May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect [make you better or stronger spiritually], establish, strengthen, and settle you.
-1 Peter 5:10
